Meditation is a broad term describing the practice of slowing down, focusing inward, and experiencing our self and our body without distraction. There are many different kinds of meditations, depending on your goal, but most are about cultivating greater presence, acceptance, and peace inside.
-
Guided meditation means following someone’s suggestions for how you focus your awareness. Guided meditations can focus on anything from experiencing your body more clearly, feeling greater compassion for yourself or others, or even imagining going someplace enjoyable.
-
These days you can easily find guided meditations online whenever you want so why join a live class? The reason is that mediating with a group is different. When we meditate together I’ve found it helps to enhance the experience and make it not only about connecting with yourself but also being a part of a larger community focused on healing and growth.

Not at all. Thinking is part of the human experience. Try not to think, and chances are you’re just thinking about THAT now. Don’t worry if your thoughts keep intruding on your experience. When they do you can simply notice them and return to the content of the meditation.

I have over 18 years of experience guiding people to connect with themselves to support their learning, growth, and healing. I find guided meditation to be both enjoyable and valuable in how it can help us experience ourselves and our lives in new and rewarding ways.
This is not therapy,
but it still can help.
Meditation has been shown to help people reduce stress and anxiety, as well as improve emotional regulation and focus.
